UPMARKET: ART MARKETS AT FAIRVIEW

UPMARKET held on April 11, was the first of four art markets for 2010  at the Fairview Estate and was hosted by Fairview ArtSpace Gallery, The Small Winemakers Centre and Gulgee Woolshed.

A total of sixteen stalls surrounded the Gallery with products ranging from iron sculptures, hand-made glassware, decorated gourds to pre-loved clothing, antique and modern jewellery, pottery, painting and photography.

Whle in the central courtyard, poetry reading and a bush band kept the steady stream of visitors entertained in between checking out the stalls and tasting the Small Winemakers latest vintages.

Fairview ArtSpace hosted Ross and Judy Kurtz's latest exhibition and a program of wool spinning and knitting at Gulgee Woodshed attracted considerable enterest from enthusiasts.

Overall it was a very successful day with all of the stall holders being enthusiastic about both the event and the venue, so the second UPMARKET is tentatively scheduled for the July School Holidays, but the exact dates have yet to be determined.
